I feel like I must comment on the sad loss of Amy Winehouse. Every paper, tv station and  social media site has sited a mixture of comments around the idea that we were sadly expecting an early end to this talented stars life due to her addiction to drugs and alcohol. Some people have gone as far as to say they have no sympathy as she chose to behave in this way. Whilst others absolve her of any blame, blaming the stronghold of addiction. I hope this sad story helps our young people gain the strength to say No.....

The question I found myself asking as a result was, What is the difference between a drug addict and an obese person with a poor relationship with food?

Welcome to ‘Slimtimes’ my new blog. A place where we can share a chat, exchange helpful information and gain valuable advice. I want this site to be the first place you turn to celebrate all your successes as you move forward with your new healthy lifestyles.

This weekend I was away on a youth coaching course and I was fortunate to meet a wonderful group of people who really want to make a difference to our young people’s lives.

Whilst I was there I was asked what I thought the ideal ingredient for success is when trying to change your relationship with food.

Being overweight is no fun and I should know, it’s exactly what I did for over 20 years. Each day berating myself for over indulging and promising myself faithfully that tomorrow would be different, of course it rarely was. Recognise the symptoms?  I can help you overcome all the things that get in the way of you being the person you know you can be. I firmly believe you know what you need to do to lose weight, you know what needs to change and you know you can achieve it if only you…….

  • had more time
  • could be different
  • could silence the conflicting voices in your head
  • had more willpower
  • could resist temptation
  • could stop socialising so much

Often these are not simply ‘excuses’, they are strongly held beliefs that you genuinely cannot see a way past. In my biography ‘Journey to the end of a diet’ to be published soon, you may recognise yourself.  I spent years as a professional dieter,  I learnt to eat too much,  eat in secret  then punished myself for not having had more discipline.  I learnt how to live off shakes or cabbage soup, cups of green beans, and endless, pills and bars. I wasted many hours of my life applauding myself for having lost 2 lbs. The same 2lbs I had gained and lost many times before. I am delighted to report that those days are over for me and could be for you, with my help and the great advice and support that this website can bring you.

So go on, trust yourself to do it this time and do it properly with me and all the previous and current clients who’ve benefitted from my experience.

Living with obesity is no fun and I should know, it’s exactly what I did for some 20+ years. Going to bed every night berating myself for over indulging and promising myself faithfully that tomorrow would be different, of course it rarely was.

What I learnt during that 20+ years was that the diet industry like many other industries relies on the belief that people buy from those they know and trust and when you are desperate for a solution you will trust just about anyone who you believe has all the answers. This must seem a strange comment to make considering I am trying to promote a weight management support system.

I firmly believe you know what you need to do to lose weight, you know what needs to change and you know you can achieve if only…….

  • you had more time
  • things could be different
  • you could silence the conflicting voices in your head
  • you had more willpower
  • you could resist temptation
  • you could stop socialising so much

These are not simply ‘excuses’ as many will tell you. They are often strongly held beliefs that you genuinely cannot see a way past.

In my biography ‘Journey to the end of a diet’ you will appreciate that I successfully built my life around being a professional dieter. I learnt to eat too much, how to eat in secret and overeat at that. I learnt how to live off shakes or cabbage soup, cups of green beans, and endless, pills and bars. I wasted many hours of my life applauding myself for having lost 2 lbs. The same 2lbs I had gained and lost many times before.

I am delighted to report that those days are over for me and with my help and the great advice and support that this website will bring you I know those days could be over for you to.

"Hi my name is Marjorie for 21 years I have been dieting I have done them all!  Then last year I was introduced to Jenny by my best friend I was told if I gave Jenny 100% commitment I could lose at least a stone for Christmas.

Well that sounded great so I decided to give it a go over the next 9 weeks something amazing happened to me.  I really started to grow as a person my weight didn’t matter I started baking again as I stopped baking if you bake you eat it you put on weight but I found because I was not dieting I only needed one piece of cake not the whole cake.

Jenny asked me to set goals, since I was 19years old I always said that I would like to pass my Advanced Driving Test , never did anything about it didn’t think I was good enough but guess what I passed my driving test in February 2008 . My family used to take advantage of me because I could never say no. I do now but nicely and I have more fun.   Before I met Jenny I would ring my husband when I was out shopping to ask his permission to buy clothes not that ever once he said no nor did he mind but I did not have the confidence just to buy.  Now I go and buy. He loves the new Marjorie.

The most amazing thing that has happened to me since I met Jenny my overall view is I CAN DO THAT what tools do I need, rather then I don’t think I can do that.

I am very happy with my body it is the same size and shape as when I first met Jenny but now I am a much more confident person I even had a nude photo album made, a photograph of me was shown on a 6ft screen in the complete nude at the Amazing Women’s Day in front of 200 women. The world is my oyster, life is for living.  Thanks Jenny."

In 2010 having taken some time off from coaching to make significant changes to my own life I decided that it was time I set myself a challenge that would both benefit myself and others. So together with Kay Kirkby I agreed to trek along the Great Wall of China, one of the worlds most famous landmarks.

I am trekking China in order to raise funds for the Maisy Rose Project:
